Suherman Medical University (UMS) GRADUATE NURSING STUDY PROGRAM Thesis, March 2023 Name : Lucky Kurniawan NIM : 2210700074 THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FAMILY SUPPORT AND STRESS LEVEL WITH QUALITY OF LIFE IN TYPE II DM PATIENTS DI POLY DISEASE IN SENTRA MEDIKA HOSPITAL CIKARANG, 2022 xi+61 Pages+7 Tables+9 appendices According to WHO Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disease or disorder characterized by high blood sugar levels and disturbances of carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolism as a result of insulin function insufficiency. Insufficiency of insulin function is caused by a deficiency disorder of insulin production in the Langerhans beta cells of the pancreas gland, or a lack of responsiveness of the body's cells to insulin . Based on data from a preliminary study at the Sentra Medika Hospital in Cikarang, the results of interviews with 15 type II DM patients, 11 of them said that the lack of family support and stress levels caused a decrease in quality of life . This study aims to identify the frequency distribution of emotional support, reward support, instrumental distribution, information support, stress levels and quality of life in patients . This research method uses a quantitative method with an observational approach with a sample of 38 patients. The sample collection technique uses purposive sampling. The analysis used is the Chi-square test . The results of this study indicate a p value of 0.000 or <0.05 , so the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, which means that there is a relationship between family support and quality life of type II DM patients internal medicine polyclinic at Sentra Medika Cikarang Hospital, Bekasi Regency, 2020 2. And the results were obtained with a p value of 0.002 or <0.05, which means that there is a relationship between the level of stress and the quality of life of type II DM sufferers in the polyclinic in Sentra Medika Hospital Cikarang Bekasi Regency in 2022 . Suggestions for the development of new programs such as a DM center, where one of its activities is implementing family empowerment in managing stress levels for the care of type II DM patients Reading material: 2016-2022.
